What’s your background?

I grew up in the UK and have always loved to travel. I worked for around five years in fashion buying and then trained as a yoga teacher which led me to come to Nine and teach for six months in 2019! I had started to get disillusioned with the fashion industry as although I have always worked for reputable brands I could see the products we were creating were becoming more and more disposable and having a negative impact on the planet. I also knew that commuting to an office working with physical products everyday wasn’t a lifestyle that worked for me.

How long have you been working remote and what are you currently working on?

I left my office job in March 2019 but now I have a home base in the UK so I mix between travelling and being in Manchester. I have been working on launching rho an ethical loungewear/pyjama brand (@wheninrho on instagram) for quite a while but we officially launched in October 2020 which is really exciting. I founded the brand with a good friend Elena, we both met at school when we were 11 years old! The driving force behind it all is that we believe everyone deserves a safe night’s sleep. We work with an incredible fair trade supplier to ensure the workers who make our products are treated with respect and donate £5 from each item sold to a domestic abuse charity.

Why do you think Tenerife and the Canary island is a good destination for digital nomads?

Perfect weather, beautiful hikes, slower pace of living and I love being able to spend so much time outdoors.

What is your favorite thing about Nine Coliving?

All the people there and the community Anne has created is very special, I have met lots of incredible people there. I also love old buildings so spending time in the house itself and those beautiful windows in the coworking space are a massive draw for me! La Orotava is a very charming and safe town and I love being a short drive away from the forest La Caldera - it’s one of my favourite places to hike around on the island.
